Key Features
In order to expand its biological chemistry capabilities, the University of Newcastle (UON) engaged Principle to deliver upgrades to the existing Science and Chemistry Buildings, originally constructed in 1969. Principle managed the design and construction process from initial business case through to post-completion defects over a 21-month period.
The project delivered new world-class research laboratories (PC2 OGTR compliant) along with office space for 40 academic staff, 20 administrative staff and 20 RHD students.
Various compliance upgrades were also facilitated by the project, to improve amenities and provide compliant (DDA) access to the buildings.
